This, still unidentified animal, was found on the Montauk beach in New York state by 4 women, in 2008. This creature, later named the Montauk Monster, that triggered lots of discussions about what it is and where did it come from, looked like a hybrid of a racoon, a bird and possibly a dog. The question “What is this animal?” emerged, and no one could answer it. Luckily, the women who found it in the beach took a picture of it, and it is still the only picture existing of this monster. So the stories begun – was it a new type of animal or an animal created by genetic mutations done in the lab. The second option sounded more likely, because there is a government lab nearby – The Plumb Island Disease Center. Finally, as everything unexplainable, it magically vanished, so this is the only picture that remained. And the one with the fly tends to show the size of this weird animal, so it couldn’t possibly be a racoon, because it is too big for it.
